JavaScript Practice Questions, HTML Media, KeralaJS, & MES College Coding Event
Hello dearest reader, brace yourself for a monthly update from the halls of BigBinary Academy! 🎓
JavaScript Course Update
First of all, we made some nifty content updates in the Academy. We have added a bunch of comprehensive exercises. Here are some of these:
(a) Basic JavaScript Comprehensive 1: Exercise 01, Exercise 02, Exercise 03
(b) Basic JavaScript Comprehensive 2: Exercise 01, Exercise 02, Exercise 03
(c) Basic JavaScript Comprehensive 3: Exercise 01, Exercise 02, Exercise 03
Try them out, they are fun!
Our Intermediate HTML course got the Media chapter update.
Events
We got a chance to speak at the Kerala JS event. The talk was about how we built BigBinary Academy, and how it benefits students.
We were invited to MES college, Kunnukara for a challenging coding event! 🎉 It was an opportunity for students to flex their coding muscles and have fun while doing it. I mean, who doesn't love a bit of friendly competition? We ended up starting two batches with them.
Now, about the Workshop!
This time, we experimented a little bit. We wanted to see what would be the response of the students if we got them to coding before they even started learning about it in the workshop! So, we challenged them with an idea of a project and they were free to explore the Academy to build this.
The intention was to spin the learning process: build something before you ace the learning part! The students built the HTML project by simply using the Academy for the next problem that they faced.
And frankly, we were blown away by the projects that our students produced within the first couple of days. These folks have worked so hard, and the end result is beautiful. The experiment seems to be working.
Here are the snapshots showing the progress that our students made on Day 1 and you can see the rapid growth:
Later they covered all the lessons and challenges in the Basic HTML course with us. They improved on their projects and these are the final links:
One last thing
Last month, we also conducted a mock coding test using an internal tool of ours: neetoRunner. The results were outstanding. Over 130 applicants took part, and we're delighted to report that everything worked out without a hitch. Our team worked hard to ensure that everything ran seamlessly, and we couldn't be happier with the results. The application is now being stress tested and the results are super promising! Kudos to the team!
That’s all that happened at the Academy this month. See you in the next update!
