New Event Invitation Creator Project, Help Page Launch, and Updates to To-Do List, Shopping Cart, and Input Type Date Lesson
October 13th - October 19th
Let's look at what we worked on in BigBinary Academy during the week of 13th October 2024 to 19th October 2024.
Project Update
The Currency Converter project is currently the first project in which learners submit a form and interact with an API. To better prepare them for this, we decided to introduce a simpler project before tackling the Currency Converter. This new project helps learners focus solely on form submission, so by the time they reach the Currency Converter, they can concentrate on learning how to work with APIs.
To achieve this, we’ve added the Event Invitation Creator project.
In this project, you can input event details such as the name, date, time, location, and description. After submitting, these details will be displayed as a styled event invite card. By working on this project, learners can improve their form submission skills before moving on to more complex tasks.
We have made the tasks in our To-Do List and Shopping Cart projects more detailed, breaking them down into smaller steps. This makes it easier to focus on each part as you work through the projects.

We also added a dedicated page to our project list for BlogIt, one of our Ruby on Rails projects. In this project, users can submit blog ideas and others can upvote or downvote them.
This project is a great way to test your Ruby on Rails skills. If you feel you need more practice, check out our Ruby on Rails Course for further learning.
BigBinary Academy Help Page is Live!
We’re excited to announce that our Help Page is now live at help.bigbinaryacademy.com!
We have noticed many queries in NeetoChat, with some learners sharing their code directly in the chat, unaware of NeetoCode, and others asking about topics like certification. We added the initial articles to our Help Page, addressing these points.
Check them out here:
We will continue to add more articles as we interact with learners and gather more feedback. Stay tuned!
Student Highlight
Shreya Veeraraghav is a final-year student of Computer Science at the Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology. She has been consistently covering BigBinary Academy for one hour every day for close to 4 months now. She has been consistent and we are happy to have her with us.
She is currently working on our Learn CSS course and you should check out the Shopping Cart Project she built.
If you want to build the same project, here is a step-by-step explanation.
Community Feedback
Sagar raised a couple of questions about the date format and placeholder in the Input Type Date lesson, and we realised there was room for improvement. Based on his feedback, we’ve updated the lesson to clarify these points. Thanks, Sagar! You can check out the updated lesson here.
