Let's look at what we worked on in BigBinary Academy during the week of 17th March 2024 to 23rd March 2024.
JavaScript Course Update
This week, we have added a lesson and two exercises on Array.from(), which will help learners create an array when they need it. We wanted this lesson before the DOM Manipulation chapters so that we could convert the results of querySelectorAll, getElementsById and getElementsByClassName to arrays. This should help the learners make more sense of using these methods.
HTML, Ruby & SQL Course Update
Next, we improved our iframe lesson. We have removed some attributes which are now deprecated. Take a look at the updated lesson. We have also renamed all exercises in the Ruby course and our SQL course to be referred to as challenges from now on. This HTML assessment has been completely revamped this week.
Added a new Batch
We have added a new batch of students from the Silicon Institute of Technology, to the workshop. We welcome all the 55 learners who are joining the BigBinary Academy Workshop. These are final-year students who will be spending 6 hours daily working on BigBinary Academy. We look forward to working with them.
Conducted JavaScript Assessment
The QA Automation batch from Muthoot attended their first JavaScript assessment. This was done using neetoRunner. They were tested on JavaScript concepts that they have covered till now in the workshop. This was one of their first experiences for proctored testing. We want to do this more, so that their fear of taking tests in interviews goes away.
Student Highlight
Soumya Ranjan Pratap is a final-year student at CIME College, Bhubaneswar. Soumya has been consistently covering BigBinary Academy for one hour every day. He has been working on our Learn CSS course. He has been consistent and we are happy to have him with us.
You should check out his CSS Login Form Project.
Community Feedback
Daksh Jain highlighted a variable naming inconsistency in one of our question descriptions. We have made the change now. Vineet Nelson highlighted that the attributes in our `form` element in the challenge was resulting in mistakes. We have improved the challenge now.
Thanks guys!
