Let's look at what we worked on in BigBinary Academy during the week of 21st April 2024 to 27th April 2024.
JavaScript Course Update
This week, we have added a new project in our JavaScript course. We hope you’ll have fun building a News Explorer project. Give it a try!
We have also added a lesson and an exercise explaining the isArray method. This should help learners check whether a JavaScript value is an array or not.
CSS Course Update
We have added lessons for practical uses for all CSS units. This was much needed as learners often asked us why should we use vw when the same effect can be achieved using `percentages`. Now, there are lessons for vw, pixels and percentages which can help clear the distinction of use for these units. Take a look at the new lessons.
Added a new Batch
We interacted with the third-year students from the Computer Science and IT batches of Rajagiri College, Cochin. The conversation was about our full-stack workshop. They asked us many questions about the workshop, and we were happy to resolve all their doubts. After the event, 85+ learners showed interest in the workshop by filling out our registration form. The selected learners will begin next week. We look forward to working with them.
Student Highlight
Vishnu KP is a final-year student of Computer Science at the Government Engineering College, Thrissur. He has been consistently covering BigBinary Academy for four hours every day. Vishnu has been working on our Learn JavaScript course. We are excited to see his progress. You should check out his Currency Converter Project.
Community Feedback
While going through our course on CSS, Toan highlighted some improvements in our question statements and our concept explanations. We’ve now included all these suggestions in the learn CSS course.
Suraj Mallick identified some mismatches in our requirements and solution in the HTML assessment. We have made the change and now the problem statement and solution correctly match.
After the recent updates, our chapter on Browser Events had a bug. Even after pasting the correct solution, the code editor marked it as incorrect solution. This has since been fixed. Mirarani Pati and Shreyas Kokadwar first highlighted the problem.
Thanks everyone!
