Understanding APIs, const can be confusing & Welcoming GEC, Thrissur Folks
10th March 2024 - 16th March 2024
Let's look at what we worked on in BigBinary Academy during the week of 10th March 2024 to 16th March 2024.
JavaScript Course Update
This week, we added a chapter on understanding APIs, which should simplify understanding how a basic web API works. There is also now a new lesson on the default rem value.
We are consistently adding more practice opportunities for learners. Here are some new questions that were added this week:
Learners often get confused about how const works in JavaScript, especially how we are allowed to change the values of an array or object declared using const. We address this confusion in this new lesson.
We now have a new workshop page highlighting all the details about our workshops. Please take a look!
Added a new Batch
We have added a new batch of students from the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, to the workshop. We welcome all the 26 learners who are joining the BigBinary Academy Workshop. These are final year students of the Computer Science and Engineering branch. They would be spending 6 hours daily working on BigBinary Academy. We look forward to working with them.
Student Highlight
Snajana Mohanty is a 1st year student of MCA in CIME, Bhubaneshwar. Sanjana has been consistently covering BigBinary Academy for one hour every day. She has been working on our Learn CSS course. She has been consistent, and we are happy to have her with us.

Community Feedback
This week, Vinit pointed out that the question description in one of our lessons was missing an important description. Mrutyunjaya Senapati showed us that in a challenge, the question code and the solution code had some mismatch. Also, Mirarani Pati helped improve our Browser Events lesson by pointing out that the students would understand the lesson better if the event parameter was explicit.
Thank you all!
